About the Department

The Department of History is one of the oldest Departments in our college when the college was affiliated to B.A. programme of C.U. History subject was introduced as an elective Subject in B.A. Pass Course. Honours Course was introduced in 2004 by the demands from students and efforts of the college authority after a proper inspection by the expert team from the University of Calcutta. After 2008 The Department came under the West Bengal State University. Presently there are 2 full-time teachers in the Department, ably assisted by 3 SACT teachers.
