About the Department

One of the oldest  departments of the college, the English department is also one of the most prosperous and prestigious departments of the college, in terms of faculty, number of students, number of books available on the subject in the library, and the regularity with which classes are held. Many eminent teachers, most of whom have been poets and authors in their own right, have enriched the department with their exemplary teaching down the years. Several of the pass outs from the department are well established and shouldering onerous responsibilities in their respective professional spheres. Following a period of serious scarcity of teachers, the department, at present, has a full capacity of 4 full-time teachers and 1 guest lecturer.
