EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS

The department organizes Educational Tours at regular intervals. The international Kolkata Book Fare, Dakshineshwar Kali temple , Belur Math, Indian Museum, Victoria Memorial, Birla Planetarium, And National Library are the most visited area.

In September, 2012, The department organized a three-day Excursion to historical Hazarduary Palace in Murshidabad with Mayapur and Nabadwip in Nadia.

LOCAL HISTORICAL TOUR

In July 26th, 2016 The department organized an one-day study tour to visit historical places covering Petrapole International Border – Thakur Haridas Temple – Sat Sang Temple – House Of R.D. Banerjee – Lok Nath Baba Temple – House Of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay – Bibhutibhushan Park & Hanging Bridge.

SEMINARS & CONFERENCES

1. On 11, February 2011, The Department organized a seminar along with Department of Political Science entitled “ BEYOND TERRORISM.” Speaker – Dr. Goutam Kumar Basu, Jadavpur University.
2. On 05, September 2012, The Department organized a seminar entitled “LIFE & WORKS OF SARBAPALLY RADHAKRISHNAN”. Speaker- Swapan Kumar Mandal, Departmental Head.
3. Department has established a History Club on 13th December, 2013. History Club Organized 11 Seminars , one Annual Conference And one Rakhaldas Bandopadhyay Commemoraritive Lecture and organized 3 film Exhibitions. (For details please click History Club button)
4. Organized A Seminar On “ Literary Works Of Rakhaldas Bandopadhya” On 08th August, 2016.

STUDENT SEMINAR

Department organized a STUDENT SEMINAR on 24th August, 2016 on the theme of “INDIAN FREEDOM FIGHTER”.

An awareness programme organized on “RTI ACT” ON 20.08.2016.

WALL MAGAZINE

The Department of History is publishing their wall magazine the name entitled “SAMAYANTAR” in regular interval. The magazine started on 13th December, 2013.

Departmental head SRI SWAPAN KUMAR MANDAL has taken a class on “the relation between Geography & History” at 30.08.2016 at seminar hall organized by Department of Geography.
