Events of the Geography Department
The Geography Department at Dinabandhu Mahavidyalaya is vibrant and active, organizing a variety of events throughout the academic year. These events aim to enrich the educational experience, promote student engagement, and foster a sense of community. Here are some highlights:
1. Seminar
- The department has invited experts from various fields, including cartography and Remote Sensing to share their insights. These lectures provide students with exposure to current research and professional practices.
2. Workshops and Skill-Building Sessions
- Workshops on GIS and remote sensing, are held to equip students with essential technical skills. These sessions are often hands-on, allowing students to work directly with software and tools.
3.Fieldwork
- Both national and local fieldworks are organized by the Department of Geography. With the help of these fieldworks, physical and socio-economic analyses are done. These excursions enhance classroom learning and provide real-world context to theoretical concepts.
4. Wall Magazine
- The Department has published the wall magazine in different topics where students demonstrates the topic .This event encourages scholarly exchange and networking among students, and the faculties in the different fields.
5. Quiz
- This event features a series of questions focusing on the knowledge of computer, literatures and the environment. It aims to raise awareness and foster discussions on important global issues.
6. Student’s Seminar
- Students are encouraged to show their research interests in a seminar format. This event allows students to practice presenting their work and receive constructive feedback from faculty and peers.
8. Cultural Programmes
- The Geography Department organizes various cultural programmes(mainly Fresher and Farewell Programme) where students participate and prove their versatility on singing, dancing, recitation and so on.
Apart from these events students of the Department of Geography participate These events not only enhance the academic experience but also encourage students to engage with the geography community and develop practical skills.
