Facilities the Department

Department of Anthropology offers dynamic and supportive environment for students to explore their interests and develop the skills necessary for success. The department provides a range of specialized resources, faculty, and opportunities to support students in their teaching, and learning and help them achieve their goals.

Classrooms and laboratories

Well-equipped laboratories and classrooms with modern teaching learning equipment and multimedia resources are available. Laboratories include spaces for the analysis and conservation of artefacts’, tools, and other archaeological materials. Tools for fieldwork, high quality camera and different specimens related to material culture are also available. Laboratories for Biological anthropology provide collections of skeletons, skulls, human bones for study anatomy, as well as forensic anthropology. All the necessary equipment and instruments are available for the study of Anthropometry and Human population genetics. Washbasin and water purifier are also accessible.

Computer and Internet
Computer desktops with internet facility for the students and the faculty members are obtainable. Scanning machine and Printer machine are also accessible.

Departmental Library
Anthropology department provides access to a library with extensive anthropology-specific resources, including books, field notes and laboratory manuals.

Collaborative and Interdisciplinary facilities
Anthropology department is designed to foster collaboration with other disciplines such as Sociology, Zoology, Botany etc. to conduct different programmes. Anthropology department also organises student and faculty exchange programmes.

Value added programme, Wall magazine, Welfare Programmes and Seminar
Different value-added programmes are conducted by the department. Wall magazine is published in regular interval. Welfare programmes include the nutritional assessment, Thalassemia and other awareness programmes. Student’s seminars are accomplished to encourage intellectual exchange.
